Birkwood Bridge, Moorings and Lock, viewed downstream. Calder Cut (or Broadreach Cut) bypasses a large meander between the Bottom Boat and Foxholes Reaches in the River Calder. Altoft Ings is situated in the meander. There was once an earler canal cut south of Bottom Boat between Lake Lock and the old ferry to Bottom Boat Farm.
