Fort Zeelandia
The ruins of the ancient Dutch fort. It takes its name from the province of Zeeland in the Netherlands.

Fort Zeelandia, the original wooden fort was built by the Dutch in 1726 and was later replaced by the brick structure in the 1740s. Picture shows Eugene Noel, my tour guide.

This old ruin, the Court of Policy and the river crossing all make for an interesting excursion from Georgetown.

Little remains to be seen inside the fort, it is just a shell. Nevertheless, an interesting relic of the past.
